ANECDOCHE
A conversation in which everyone is talking but nobody is listening
ANECDOCHE is a piece represented by the graduating students from Høyskolen Kristiania spring 2022. MOIRA Production had the pleasure to come in and work with them for a month preparing for their Bachelor performance.

The piece reflects the modern society with it's complicaded and overwhelming noise. The word anecdoche is, by The Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, translatet to:

"a conversation in which everyone is talking but nobody is listening, simply overlaying disconnected words like a game of Scrabble, with each player borrowing bits of other anecdotes as a way to increase their own score, until we all run out of things to say."
Through movement the dancers will express and visual represent a chaotic and overstimulated external world, among a lonely individual self.

Hand in hand with the movement, the variation of music plays a big role in the plural stories and feelings attached to the production. These switching phrases also represents society's high speed, and will force everyone to build their own connections from beginning to end.

In line with all productions created by MOIRA; individual perceptions is the core, and we always want to be remembered by the feeling you are left with.
